MEP BIM modelling
Build or update HVAC, plumbing, gas and fire protection models from your supplied design information.
Deliverables: Revit model, agreed views and schedules.
PORTFOLIO / PROJECT SERVICES
I turn design information into coordinated models, clear drawings and practical tools.
01 / SELECTED WORK
From Hong Kong's construction projects to building services in Ontario. A selection of models, details and deliverables from my work.
PROJECT SERVICES
Project-based support for consultants, contractors and BIM teams. Clear deliverables, agreed scope and practical workflows.
Build or update HVAC, plumbing, gas and fire protection models from your supplied design information.
Deliverables: Revit model, agreed views and schedules.
Drawing revisions, annotations, sheet setup and cleanup for coordinated project documentation.
Deliverables: agreed drawing sheets and editable files.
Review linked models, identify clashes and document issues for your project team to resolve.
Deliverables: coordination views and an issue register.
Create equipment and component families with agreed geometry, connectors and parameters.
Deliverables: RFA files and parameter guidance.
Develop project-specific tools for repetitive modelling, annotation or documentation tasks.
Deliverables: agreed scripts, setup notes and usage guidance.
Services cover modelling, documentation and workflow support. Engineering design decisions and approvals remain with the project's responsible design professional.
WORKING TOGETHER
Send your scope, reference files, software version and target date.
Confirm deliverables, fee, timeline and review rounds before work starts.
Review the agreed work, resolve comments and receive the final files.
HOW I WORK
I focus on how a model will be coordinated, documented and used. When a repetitive task slows that down, I look for a better workflow.
Review references, linked models, project requirements and the intended deliverable.
Develop geometry and families, check interfaces and resolve conflicts with the team.
Produce plans, details and schedules. Improve annotations and automate repeatable work.
02 / EXPERIENCE
A technical path across modelling, construction coordination, fabrication documentation and building services.
Support multidisciplinary building services documentation in Revit, including HVAC, plumbing, gas, electrical and fire protection coordination. Prepare and revise drawing sets, schedules and model information for project delivery.
Developed sprinkler models and drawings, supported BIM coordination and clash detection, performed fire flow tests and hydraulic calculations, and prepared as-built documentation.
Prepared Kidde gas suppression layouts, isometric drawings and calculation reports. Coordinated design requirements with contractors and produced shop drawings and fabrication references.
Worked on ceiling BIM for Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 2 Expansion. Reviewed consultant models, developed families, and prepared installation marking plans and material take-offs.
Supported architectural and structural modelling, Navisworks coordination, clash reviews and issue tracking. Worked with clients and subcontractors to communicate model information and resolve coordination issues.
Assisted with architectural and MEP modelling in Revit and model checks in Navisworks, building the foundations of multidisciplinary BIM practice.
WORKING TOOLSET
03 / TOOLBOX
Small tools and templates built around real drafting problems. My automation work uses AI-assisted Python development, Dynamo and the Revit API, with iteration driven by the drawing workflow.
Place a group of native Revit spot coordinates with 45° leaders, a shared text column and adjustable spacing. Choose direction by clicking in the view and repeat placements until Esc.
Development version. Geometry and lifecycle checks are not live Revit tests; review the result visually in a test project.

ONGOING EXPLORATION
I explore pyRevit add-ons, Dynamo workflows, Revit MCP connections, family creation and annotation tools. These are areas of active development and learning, alongside my day-to-day modelling work.
OUTSIDE THE MODEL / PHOTOGRAPHY04 / ABOUT
I’m Davis, a BIM professional based in the Greater Toronto Area, with a background in Hong Kong construction and building services.
I enjoy work where details matter: a family that behaves properly, a drawing that communicates clearly, or a small tool that makes a repetitive task easier.
Outside work, I’m interested in photography, automotive technology, badminton and snowboarding. That same curiosity carries into the way I learn software and investigate how systems work.
